Things that you will need:

One Yellow/Orange video cable (RCA Style)
One set of RCA style audio cords

Original PS3/PS2 standard RCA component cord

The Capture Card
Any capture card will work. As long as you can record an external video source. For this process we will be using the Gamebridge USB capture card (model # 1410)

How to hook it up.

Some Background on my setup
I have a 42" Samsung 1080p High Def TV. My PS3 is connected using the HDMI cables and my audio is connected through the digital optic line that feeds directly into my home stereo. I have a PC also connected to my HDTV, so when I record I can use the TV as the monitor or go directly to the AV1 channel. The directions that I will provide will assume that I have a separate monitor hooked up and can view both at the same time.

When I set this up on my PS3, I already had the HDMI cord and the Optical Digital audio plugged in and being used.
To add the required cords, I went and grabbed the cords that were sent with my PS3 or the stock PS2 wires. Use the newest version that you have available.

If you already use an SDTV, Please read the blue text.
For HDTV or Optical audio, please read all text

If you are using the HDMI port, you will be able to plug in the other cord into a port just next to the network plug on the back of the PS3. You do not need to unhook any of the wires that were connected before you started. Unless you find it easier to unhook them all and plug them back in one at a time in a more accessible location.

Once you have all of your wires plugged back in, connect your Female side of the Y adapter to the male output on the available yellow video cable from the PS3. Now connect your input on your gamebridge adapter to one of the available male Y ports.
The other side of the male Y adapter will be plugged into your video input on your TV.

Once you have all of your video connections made, turn on your PC, your TV and your PS3.

In your PS3, go to your settings area and enter the display settings.
If you are using an HDTV, you will need to change the video output to the following: S-cart - Y/C/PBR, do not select 480P, leave your audio as is and save and exit.

After you have booted up your pc and you have your capture software running, you should be able to see the same picture on the PC screen as you do on your TV.

Just hit record and then edit the video with your chosen software.
